Join First Church

First Church is a vibrant community filled with people of all ages who are sharing God’s love with one another and the world. We love welcoming visitors into our community, and we work hard at living out the message, “Whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.”

We celebrate and welcome new members during two chosen worship services during the year. To learn more about membership, please contact one of the pastors or our administrative assistant.

As a member, individuals are able to vote at congregational meetings and serve in leadership roles at the church. We welcome you to journey through life with our church community!

A Community Who Cares

From singing, to hiking, to knitting, and services opportunities near and far, we offer a variety of ways to gather as a community.

Whether you have a lot of time to give, or only occasionally, we offer many opportunities to serve.

A Community for All Ages

Sounds of laughter and fun can be heard throughout our church building. We love to learn, share and grow together! Our regular Church School program runs from September through June and is held during the 10:00 am service (9:00 am in the summer), while childcare is offered during both services.

Children

Our Crib Toddler room (ages birth – two) continues to be a space full of love and laughter where our children learn that our church is a safe and fun place to play and grow.

Our older children love learning age-appropriate lessons in fun ways each week. While using the Rotation Model Curriculum, we focus on a different Bible story for each four-week segment using different stations, including art, cooking, science, movie, games and stories. We love doing hands-on activities that help our children learn about God and Jesus and our call to make the world a more compassionate place.

Middle School

The middle school years can be challenging, so we try to create a safe and caring community where our young people can come and know they are loved. In our Agape class, our sixth through eighth graders build connections, learn about their faith and have fun together. Throughout the year, the students will engage in our puppet ministry and work with different songs, Bible stories and themes. Students make them come alive through voice acting, costumes, movement and scenery. Our puppet performances happen during our worship services, and people of all ages love them!

High School

For High School students (grades 9-12), Senior High Fellowship typically gathers on Sunday nights and led by our Youth Director and faithful adult chaperones, called Advisors. We often talk about topics that teens care deeply about - friendship, school, parents, relationships, injustice in the world, mental health, substance abuse and more. The sense of community and care is evident.

SHF has some fun highlights throughout the year as well, including a fall retreat at Silver Lake, a week-long volunteer Mission Trip during April Vacation, and an end of the year retreat on Cape Cod. SHF includes many friends who are not church members, but come for the fun, fellowship and service.
