Dear Friends,
Earlier today we gathered in our Meetinghouse to celebrate the life of Della Schultz, the wife of Carl Schultz, our pastor emeritus. When I met with the family to discuss Della’s memorial service, they talked about how Della would always say, “Love every day.”
Because we love you all so much, we are cancelling church tomorrow so you can stay home and be safe. We will miss being together in person, but we will have an opportunity to be together tomorrow. Please join us tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. for our Zoom coffee hour – a throwback to pandemic days. Click the button below. Come young and old! Come in your PJs with your favorite drink! Your pastors will be there to welcome you, and you’ll get to meet new folks and catch up with friends!
And we encourage you to go to our YouTube channel and watch a service that you missed or that you really enjoyed. 😊
If you would like to support the church school mission project by buying some delicious chocolate pops, stop by the office this week!
In a world of sadness, injustice and despair, let us all recommit to sharing love and hope every day.
Blessings,
Kate

Dear Friends,
The recent “storms” in our lives and in our world are many and challenging – illness, war, sadness, gun violence, famine, bigotry, greed and polarization. The snowstorm now predicted for Saturday night into Sunday morning will be a minor inconvenience compared with what so many people are facing in the world today. We pray for those who are without basic necessities when the storms of life come, and may we always work to make sure the needs of all people are met.
In terms of this particular winter storm, your church leaders have already been in communication, and our number one priority is the wellbeing and safety of our members and potential worshippers. Saturday late afternoon we will make the decision whether to cancel our Sunday morning services. If our services are cancelled, a blast email will be sent out to the congregation with a Zoom link for a “virtual” fellowship time like we held during the pandemic. It isn’t the same as worshipping together, but it will be nice to connect virtually. As usual, a worship service cancellation notice will be posted in the top banner of our website, as well as on local television stations.
In the past, New Englanders would pride themselves on having a Sunday morning worship service “no matter what.” Gone are the days, however, when people could get to their village church on foot or by horse and buggy. And if the pandemic has taught us anything, we now know we can still be a beloved, worshipping and grateful family of faith using the blessing of modern technology! So, stay tuned, and we look forward to “seeing you” in some form or fashion this Sunday!
This Sunday we are scheduled to gather at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse and online.
The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.
Friends, personal and physical storms come and go in our lives. Through it all, we have each other and our loving God.
Blessings,
Kate
